The Master of Science in Entrepreneurship is Foster’s new 12-month degree that embodies the startup process — from ideation and formation to execution and scale. It blends the best of business school education, practical content, world-class Seattle connections, and time in the program for students to get their startup off the ground. Our goal for students: turn that spark into reality.

Tim Elliott, Founder & Managing Director, Amplify Markets, B.S., Accounting, University of Washington, M.B.A., University of California Los Angeles

“I mentor student entrepreneurs because it reminds me what it’s like to have new ideas and follow your dreams for the first time. Also, when I was in school, entrepreneurship was not cool or even really talked about. I wish I’d had someone to mentor me! It feels good to give back and I always learn from the entrepreneurs as much as I teach.”

As a mentor, I excel at…

Product development and commercialization, new market development, international business, fundraising/finance, operations.

Don’t ask me about…

Nothing in particular. Maybe don’t ask me how to write code.

The one thing people should know about me is…

Entrepreneurship is in my blood. I started my own company in college and have worked for 4 startups since. I love the idea of creating something no on has done before.

My favorite entrepreneurial book, blog, podcast is…

I like Lean Startup. For international social entrepreneurs, The Fortune at the Bottom of the Pyramid is good.

When I have free time, I…

Spend time with my wife and daughter. We like to travel, hike, and go boating.

I manage everyday stress by…

A little meditation always helps. Also, yoga.

If I’m going out to dinner, I’ll generally order…

Something I don’t make at home, like salmon.

As a kid, I was fascinated by…

Flight and Space.

As an adult, I’m fascinated by…

Flight and Space!

The person I admire most is…

Neil Degrasse Tyson. Love that guy.

I describe myself as…

Creative, disciplined, straightforward, open-minded, innovative

My motto/tagline is…

The only permanent failure is the failure to keep breathing. Try again!
