Clinton Ford
Head of Marketing, Buf

I am a product marketing leader, passionate about unifying data science, engineering, and business. I have experience launching data and AI cloud services, working with global customers in a variety of technical and management positions, including program management and finance at Microsoft, product marketing and product management at AWS, and cloud partner marketing at Databricks.

“Mentors have helped me navigate career choices, providing valuable insights along the way, opening their networks to expand my perspective, asking thoughtful questions, and sharing key considerations. I enjoy helping MBA candidates navigate their career journeys.”

As a mentor, I excel at…

  • Creating, pitching, and launching new products and services
  • Connecting people
  • Product marketing
  • Partner marketing
  • Product management
  • Data analytics and AI

When I have free time, I…

enjoy road cycling, hiking, backpacking, camping, and volunteering with local charities.

The best career decision I’ve made was…

making the leap from working in large organizations to having an even bigger impact at startups.

As a kid, I was fascinated by…

flying, cycling, camping, hiking, fishing, and other outdoor activities.

As an adult, I’m fascinated by…

national parks, fly fishing, Peloton, storytelling, data observability, FinOps, and generative AI.

My favorite book is…

Building a StoryBrand: Clarify Your Message So Customers Will Listen by Donald Miller.
